Agenda 2021

Thursday, June 17th

  • 9:00 am - Opening ceremony Access IoT 2021

Speaker: Johannes Spatz | President Panasonic Industry Europe GmbH

  • 09:15 am - Understanding Reliability in Bluetooth® Technology

Most wireless communications technologies use radio. But radio has many inherent issues that make achieving reliability somewhat difficult.

Bluetooth® technology offers numerous capabilities distributed throughout the stack for achieving reliable communication in the most formidable circumstances and on top of an inherently unreliable physical medium.

In this session, we’ll review some of the sources of potential reliability issues and how Bluetooth® technology addresses them.

Speaker: Martin Woolley | Senior Developer Relations Manager (EMEA), Bluetooth SIG

  • 10:00 am - Tracking and monitoring critical infrastructure using Wireless

In the post COVID world, reliable and functioning infrastructures are essential to secure a fast recovery and to fuel sustainable growth.

For hydrogen infrastructures, smart cities, industry 4.0, smart healthcare, etc, all critical components will have to work harder and smarter to avoid failures or disruption.

To make it happen, the right Wireless connectivity will need to be added together with smart edge applications in order to enable condition monitoring and predictive maintenance.

Speaker: Lorenzo Amicucci  | Business Development Manager, Nordic Semiconductor

  • 10:35 am - Virtual Coffeee Break

  • 10:45 am - Industrial grade enterprise IoT

No matter how many millions of devices you want to connect, Wirepas Massive never lets you down. Forget single points of failure. Our network adjusts itself as nodes change. Completely autonomous. Dynamic to the core. Every sensor. Every tag. Every luminaire. Connected. In a single on-premise network. Connect as many devices you want. As dense as you like. For Smart Tracking, Smart Buildings, Smart Manufacturing and Smart Metering.

Speaker: Alan Sillito | Global Key Accounts, Senior Director, Wirepas

  • 11:20 am - OPTIME Plug. Play. Predict. - Take off into a new era for Condition Monitoring

Speaker: Richard Haagensen | Ecosystem and Partners Program Manager, Schaeffler

  • 11:55 am - Virtual Lunch Break

  • 12:30 pm - Leveraging Wi-Fi 6 to Accelerate Industry 4.0 Connectivity

A key element of Industry 4.0 is wireless data, and the ways that real-time information, made available over wireless connections, enhances industrial operations. This session will explore the benefits and use cases for Wi-Fi 6 and discuss how NXP’s highly optimized solutions ensure robust, high-QoS, industrial-grade network performance for a variety of mission-critical applications.

Speaker: Olivier Thivolet | Business Development Director, NXP

  • 01:05 pm - Wi-Fi 6 market access – regulatory testing and certification in a nutshell

The rapid evolution of wireless technology requires the regulatory framework to adapt dynamically within a short period of time. Typically, famous module manufacturers provide their early innovations at a stage where testing standards and certification procedures are not ready to be applied. During that early stage, testing and certification partners like CTC advanced support customers in order to define a route to product compliance.

Speaker: Dr. Matthias Flieger |  Head of Department - Certification, CTC Advanced GmbH

  • 01:40 pm - Virtual Coffee Break

  • 01:55 pm - BLE and Sub-GHz ecosystem powers IoT solution Modules

Different markets require different technologies and solutions. In this session ST presents a complete ecosystem for Sub-GHz and BLE Transceiver chipset and modules with optimized features to solve that needs. For higher integration of BLE modules with a combination of sensors ST will presents the newest solution " IoT solution Modules" based on a partnership with Panasonic.

    Speaker:

Werner Neumann | Senior Manager Technical Marketing MEMS and RF (EMEA), STMicroelectronics

Dr. Sara Ghaemi | Team Leader IoT, Panasonic Industry Europe GmbH

  • 02:30 pm - Edge Impulse - "Teaching your hardware & sensors new tricks with embedded ML"

Edge Impulse is the leading development platform for embedded machine learning,  used by over 1,000 enterprises across 10,000 ML projects worldwide. We are on a mission to enable the ultimate development experience for machine learning (ML) on embedded devices for sensors, audio, and computer vision, at scale. From getting started in under five minutes to MLOps in production, we enable highly optimized ML deployable to a wide range of hardware from MCUs to CPUs.

With Edge Impulse, developers, engineers, and domain experts solve real problems using ML in embedded solutions, speeding up development time from years to weeks. The presentation will be focusing on the how to teach your hardware & sensors new tricks with embedded ML. This applies in professional applications including predictive maintenance, asset tracking & monitoring as well as human & animal sensing.

Agile practices and rapid prototyping help to discover and clarify customer requirements. Products and solutions designed this way solve more problems and have a shorter time to market. One of today’s most popular eco systems for rapid prototyping and education in electronics is Arduino. In order to support agile practices and rapid prototyping of IoT applications Panasonic Industry Europe has designed the IoT Component Platform. It is compatible to the Arduino eco system and features a growing set of hardware, software examples and documentation. Let’s discover the IoT Component Platform’s features and see how it can help you to design better products and solutions.

  • 04:35 pm - Panasonic Lithium Batteries: Characteristics & Behavior in Industrial applications

Wireless, IoT (Internet of Things) and data collection have changed the duty requirements for back-up battery in recent years. Although operating voltage ranges got as low as 1.0V because of low voltage ICs and other components, the overall load increased due to Rx/Tx-functionality and an increase in operation frequency. One main characteristic of the new bouquet of applications is that the Lithium battery became the mission critical component. It is time therefore to review its characteristics.

Speaker: Leonardo Sabaini | Senior Business Development Manager, Panasonic Industry
